Big things, small beings.

BIG THINGS, SMALL BEINGS –

As a teenager, it is not about us,

Shoes, perfume, jeans with holes on the knees,

Worries of the reaction on the bus,

Unknown person, I hope you like what you see,

Girls, confused. Are my breasts big enough?

Boys, afraid. Is my penis big enough?

It begins with our own bodies.

As an adult, it is just about us.

Shoes, perfume, jeans with holes on the knees,

Worries, how can I afford the bus ticket?

Unknown person, I don’t care what you see.

Women, confused. Are my shoes high enough?

Men, afraid. Is my pay-check high enough?

It continues often, a temperamental soul in a body,

As an old man, it is about them,

Shoes, perfume, jeans hiding the scars on the knees,

Worries, will I die alone as I grow old?

Unknown person, do you recognize me? I’m your grandfather Adnee,

Mature women. Sorrow in my heart. Is there someone that cares about me?

Mature men. Twinges in my heart. Is there someone that misses me?

It ends with a melody.

It is not about the size, it is not about wisdom.

Small or big, does it matter?

It doesn’t matter what it looks like,

The thing that matters is what you can do with it,

Create new life. Feed a new life.

Rich or poor, does it matter?

It is not about how much there is,

It is about what you can do with it,

Make life better, save a life.

Being old, weak, ugly,

With an empty credit card,

Being tired, serving others,

With a full and happy heart.
